The otoplasty or cosmetic surgery of the ears can correct protruding ear.
What is otoplasty?
Otoplasty, also known as ear surgery is a surgical procedure that modifies and corrects the folding of the ear cartilage in various ways and fixates the external ear to the skull with sutures.
The ideal candidate
Otoplasty is for all adults and children over the age of 4 (age where ears are fully grown) wanting correction of the detachment of the pinna or hypertrophy of the earlobes. Such corrections are desirable when the person feels self conscious or embarrassed by the esthetic appearance of their ears.
Dr. Zadeh makes an incision behind the ear, exposing the ear cartilage. He then sculpts the helix (cartilage) molds and folds it back towards the head. Stitches are used to close the incisions and help maintain the ears new shape. Once the procedure is complete, a dressin gis applied to protect the ears. The duration of such a surgery is approximately one hour.
Dr. Zadeh performs surgery of the ears under general anesthesia for patient security.

All risks and complications will be thoroughly explained during your consultation.
Post operative and healing
The ears may initially be swollen and will return to normal after one month. Discomfort and pain can last anywhere between three to five days and can be controlled with prescription medication. The ears will be highly sensitive; this can last for several months and will require protection from the cold (hat) and heat (blow drying). A compression bandage will have to be worn until the first follow up visit with Dr.Zadeh, which is scheduled five to seven days post surgery.
