What is a pectoral augmentation?
Plastic surgery of the chest is usually performed to form, expand and strengthen the torso. There are many cosmetic or genetic reasons to undergo a pectoral augmentation.
The ideal candidate
Plastic surgery of the chest is especially beneficial for men with small pectoral muscles who train and still have difficulty in developing their pecs. Other than aesthetics, pectoral implants can also help men with certain birth defects.
Through a small incision at the level of the axilla (armpit), Dr. Teanoosh Zadeh frees up space for the pectoral implants over the ribs and under the pectoral muscles. Dr.Zadeh puts the implants in place. Subsequently a compression garment is fitted on the patient.
Dr.Zadeh performs this procedure under general anesthesia for patient safety.
- Poor scarring
All risks and complications will be thoroughly explained during your consultation.
Post operative and healing
A bandage is placed on the chest and must be kept until your follow up visit with Dr.Zadeh. The first week after surgery, the chest may remain sensitive, pain and discomfort can be controlled with prescribed pain medication. A compression garment must be worn for a couple of weeks and all physical activities are to be reduced for the first month. Resuming work will determined with Dr.Zadeh during the post operative appointment.
