BREAST LIFTING OR MASTOPEXY, IS AN OPERATION THAT LIFTS AND REMODELS SAGGING BREASTS. PATIENTS OFTEN OPT FOR THIS SURGERY AFTER WEIGHT LOSS OR FOLLOWING PREGNANCY WHEN THE VOLUME OF THE BREAST HAS DECREASED AND/OR THE BREAST SKIN HAS BECOME LOOSE.

What is a breast lift?

A breast lift is an operation that lifts and reshapes sagging breasts. Patients often opt for this surgery after losing weight, or after childbirth has decreased the volume of the gland or the skin’s firmness.

PROCEDURE SUMMARY

Dr. Zadeh places the areola and nipple in a higher position, reshapes the glandular tissue, removes excess skin from the lower chest, and removes the remaining skin around the gland.

If it’s also necessary to increase the breast volume, a prosthesis may be placed behind the gland or the muscle; however, breast remodelling can be performed without the need for breast prostheses.

Depending on the degree of excess skin or lift required, the most common  incisions are either around the areola, a vertical scar under the areola and/or a horizontal one in the infra mammary fold. The different approaches will be explained by Dr. Zadeh.
