What is Botulinum Protein Injection?
Botox or Dysport contain properties that relax the muscles. Purified and used at the right dosage, the protein can be used to treat various disorders, such as muscle spasms and excessive sweating, and can reduce the appearance of certain “expression-related” wrinkles. It’s best to do the treatment every 4 months, in order to see long-term beneficial results.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Some people aren’t candidates for Botox or Dysport injections. Pregnant women and those with muscular or neurological diseases or disorders should avoid it.
HOW DOES BOTOX OR DYSPORT WORK?
The protein weakens and relaxes targeted muscles. Botox or Dysport are used to reduce the appearance of glabella lines (between the eyebrows), crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. Since the injections aren’t painful, you can return to work immediately after the procedure. Results can be seen as soon as 2 to 4 days after the injections; and are are fully visible 14 days after the treatment. Depending on the dosage, the treatment can last up to 4 months.
